Murray Rounthwaite
Service Operations Manager (Hamilton)
Murray gained an interest in electronics and IT back in the late 1990’s and since then has worked in a vast range of roles in the industry. Originally involved in field and technical roles but is now mainly focussed on operational and platform management as well as customer and service delivery.
He really enjoys providing translation of technical (nerd) speak to non-technical audiences.
He has completed Microsoft, CompTIA, ICAgile, ITIL, Vendor-specific and Telephony qualifications. He prides himself on being a “Jack of all trades” in the IT world.
Murray brings a wealth of knowledge, and experience to our team.
In his spare time, if he isn’t on his MTB bike, you will usually find him on the tennis court or cricket field!
Fulton Penny
Service Delivery Manager (Hamilton)
Fulton is a dedicated Service Delivery Manager at Cloudland. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for providing exceptional support to our clients. He is deeply committed to fostering strong relationships with our clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that we consistently deliver the highest level of service. He thrives on working closely with clients, understanding their unique requirements, and finding innovative solutions to meet their expectations.
In his role as Service Delivery Manager, Fulton plays a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing the delivery of our services. He works closely with our team to ensure smooth operations, timely resolution of issues, and continuous improvement in our service offerings.
Outside of work, Fulton cherishes his time with his young family. He understands the importance of work-life balance and values quality moments with his loved ones. On weekends, you can often find him spending time with his family & working his way through a list of chores provided by his lovely wife.
When Fulton manages to sneak away for some personal time, he enjoys hitting the golf course, despite his admission of not being very skilled at the sport. Nevertheless, he appreciates the opportunity to unwind and challenge himself, always looking for ways to improve his game.

Chris Gourlay
Service Delivery Manager (Christchurch)
Chris Gourlay is a Senior Cloud Support Engineer with a special focus on our South Island customers. He also has a service delivery role, making sure we are doing our very best for our customers.
Chris has worked for Cloudland since late 2019. Prior to that, he was a customer of Cloudland, having worked for 5 years as the IT Co-ordinator for a private medical clinic.
In his spare time he plays in a brass band, is learning woodwork and sewing skills and enjoys playing board games with friends.
Tony Zaremba
Service Delivery Manager (Christchurch)
Tony Zaremba, another of our Service Delivery Manager’s, has over 25 years of commercial experience in the ICT industry. He is dedicated to creating an outstanding customer experience, leveraging his expertise to ensure clients receive the very best service. He holds professional designations, including Microsoft MCSE, CompTIA A+, and ITIL IV, positioning himself as a true GP within the ICT world.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Tony is passionate about photography and history. His favourite inspirational quote reflects his belief in helping others, stating, “The only time you should look down your nose at someone is when you are helping them up.”
Motivated by factors such as customer satisfaction, team success, continuous improvement, and relationship building, Tony serves as a key advocate for customers within the service delivery process.
His effective leadership and strategic management directly influence and enhance the overall customer experience.
Aaron Robinson
Cloud Support 2IC (Hamilton)
After spending the first 4 years of his career in the Education Department in Australia, Aaron switched to a new path and moved to New Zealand to explore the world of Cloud computing and expand his skills and knowledge.
While in Australia, Aaron attended Gordon Tafe and achieved numerous high distinctions while studying Systems Engineering. In his leisure time, he enjoys tinkering with cars or playing video games on his computer.
Aaron strongly believes in the value of hard work to earn time to pursue his passions and interests on weekends. Above all, he desires to make a positive impact by using his skills
to help others overcome challenges and improve their day.
Gayan Hetti Arachchige
Senior Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Gayan brings over 10 years of experience in IT that includes Azure, Office 365, Sharepoint, phone / PABX systems, software/user support and networking …. to name just a few.
After discovering computers were Gayan’s passion he decided to study and graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional. He completed an internship that then secured a role at Community Living and this is where his New Zealand career in IT began. He worked in various IT roles within this organisation, which subsequently became Platform Plus, and is now part of Cloudland Limited.
Gayan loves playing cricket in the summer and spending time, and travelling, with family and friends.
Constant problem-solving and discovering new technology maintains Gayan’s love for the IT industry.
Matt Freebairn
Senior Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Matt is a Senior Cloud Support Engineer at Cloudland, with a Bachelor of Design degree in Interface Design and Computer Science from Waikato University. Matt’s dedication to providing exceptional customer service is matched by his enthusiasm for all things technology.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends (and taking any opportunity to work on his project cars).
But when it comes down to it Matt lives for a challenge – he believes that the only way to learn is by doing, and will take any opportunity to learn new skills while helping upskill others.
Rory Julian
Senior Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Rory Julian is a Senior Cloud Support Engineer, who provides specialist support services to customers, our project and service team.
Rory has been an integral member of Cloudland for over 6 years, having previously worked in local government IT.
IT is more than a profession for Rory, it’s a passion as he has an interest in all things technology.
He enhances our clients IT experience by understanding their environment, workflows and solving problems while providing prompt, efficient internal and external support.
Daryl Mills
Senior Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Daryl brings a wealth of experience to Cloudland, with an impressive 26-year career in IT support and administration. Prior to joining our team, he honed his expertise at various companies, making him a seasoned professional in the field. His extensive hands-on experience speaks for itself.
Outside of the tech world, Daryl enjoys the simple pleasures of life. He’s often spotted taking leisurely walks with his two loyal canine companions and tending to his garden.

Joel Bullot
Cloud Support Engineer in Service (Hamilton)
Joel Bullot is a Cloud Support Engineer, and one of the friendly voices you will hear on the phone within the Support Team!
Joel’s IT background is in education, providing IT Services and support to schools. Joel holds a Bachelor of Information Technology.
What motivates Joel? Helping people resolve problems they experience on a day-to-day basis, so working is easier and more enjoyable!
In his spare time he enjoys gaming, 3d printing, and taking his drone out mining the bitcoins, as well as looking after his new cat!
Aiden King
Cloud Support Engineer in Service (Christchurch)
Aiden is based in Christchurch and focused on supporting South Island customers, primarily a private hospital and associated customers.
Aiden has a Diploma in Computer Networking from Ara, 2014 and prior to joining the Cloudland team, Aiden worked at Citycare in an IT support role for 6 and ½ years.
During his time there he gained great experience:
- Technical lead on deployment of Teams as a calling platform
- Implementing a PowerApp and scripting process that reduced new user setup from an hour to 10 minutes,
- Helping the company mature from fully in-house bare metal servers to a mixture of hosted VMs and Microsoft 365/Azure cloud.
In his spare time, Aiden often volunteers with Forest and Bird NZ, planting natives on the hills and culling wildling pines. When he is not volunteering Aiden likes to spend his time gaming, both PC and VR, reading fiction online, and helping his mum in the garden.
Aiden’s goal is to be happy and leave a positive impact on the world, both through positive interactions with people and by reducing his impact on the environment.
Shane Wilkinson
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Shane’s roles at Cloudland include Cloud Support Engineer alongside working on the Service Desk.
Shane has worked for Cloudland for almost 9 years. Prior to joining the team, he worked a range of jobs in various industries. Starting out as a Physics and Science Teacher at Hillcrest High School, he then progressed through various tech-related jobs for companies such as QED Software, Air New Zealand and Staples Rodway Waikato. Alongside providing IT Support for some Auckland Schools. He even had his own ICT Support business in the Far North.
In his spare time, Shane enjoys spending time with his boys, who are 11 & 12 (although he often needs to detach them from their computers first). He also takes part in physical activities such as walking & cycling to and from work and swimming. He also enjoys regular Karaoke sessions and reading (in an attempt to cut back on the Netflix binges).
Shane has received a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Electronics) and has a Diploma in Secondary Teaching.
Joshua Thompson
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Josh has been with the company for a short time, prior to that he has spent 2 years work in IT for healthcare and primary health organizations with an extensive knowledge in patient management systems.
Josh graduated from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in applied information technology.
In his spare time you can find Joshua either head deep in a book or jamming some games with friends or hitting the weights furthering his progression into the world of callisthenics and powerlifting.
The gratification of solving and assisting with the complexities of IT making it as beautifully simple as possible and having an amazing team to assist with this is incredible.
Priyanka Sharma
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Another of our friendly voices you will hear on the phone with our Support Team, Priyanka brings over 10 years of hands-on experience in the IT industry.
She recently graduated with a Masters’s Degree in Applied Information Technology from the Waikato Institute of Technology. She has also accomplished a certification in Security/Compliance as an ISO27001 Lead Auditor.
In her spare time, Priyanka loves to go for walks and watch television with her son. Family and ambition are both important to Priyanka.
Thomas Steel
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Computing Systems from Unitec, focusing on Networking and Cyber security. Before joining the Cloudland team he worked in the IT department for a financial services company in Wellington.
His two children keep Thomas very busy, but he also enjoys tinkering with electronics and is currently upgrading his house to be a smart home, bit by bit.
A keen learner, Thomas is always on the lookout for new things to learn about and explore.
Foster Chinorinda
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Super friendly Foster also sits within our Support Team helping customers each day. He has been working in the IT industry for a few years and is enjoying the continuous learning curve. He is inspired by how the world of technology influences the world.
Foster graduated from Ara with a Diploma in Information Technology and also holds a Bachelor of Science from Otago University.
Out of work, Foster likes going on hikes, spending time with family and friends and tinkering with electronics. He’s also an avid reader.
Nayan Wijesekera
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Nayan is a Cloud Support Engineer at Cloudland.
Originally from Sri Lanka, Nayan moved to New Zealand in 2020 as an international student. He successfully completed his master’s in digital business from the University of Waikato. Prior to that, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in computing from the University of Greenwich (UK).
With a strong academic background and a passion for technology, Nayan has further enhanced his skills through industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, Access4 to name a few.
Nayan has accumulated several years of valuable IT support experience, both in New Zealand and Sri Lanka. This diverse background has provided him with a robust understanding of IT systems and solutions and enables him to deliver a high level of support to our customers.
Outside of work, Nayan leads an active and fulfilling life. He is passionate about badminton and is involved in both playing and coaching the sport at a professional level. Despite his busy schedule, Nayan places great importance on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. He cherishes spending quality time with his family, pursuing further studies, and engaging in various sports activities.

Lawrence Hou
Cloud Support Engineer (Palmerston North)
Lawrence graduated from Massey University with a Graduated-Diploma in Information Technology and has been providing IT support for over 8 years. He is always expanding and updating his knowledge base to provide the best support to our customers.
He has a wide range of hobbies including playing sports, especially Volleyball, listening to music and watching movies.
Although Lawrence knows hard work pays off, he does like the motto below.
Joshua Couper
Cloud Support Engineer (Hamilton)
Prior to joining us, Joshua provided sole IT support to a company with over 25 locations across New Zealand, and team members in Australia and other locations. He now forms part of our large Cloudland support team.
He likes looking at problems in different ways and is inspired by the way that many complicated problems can be solved with a few basic tools. He thrives off constantly learning, and putting things to the test.
Out of work, JC combines his love and curiosity for using technology to build new gadgets. He’s currently building an arcade machine and a fridge for serving beer from!
Madan Chapagain
Cloud Support Engineer (Palmerston North)
Born in Nepal, Madan moved to New Zealand to progress his career in IT. Having worked in IT now for over 10 years, he continues to enjoy learning about new technological changes and advancements.
Each day is different and being faced with new problems to solve and then finding the solutions is what Madan thrives off.

Sopheak Hean

As a Cloud Support Engineer, Sopheak (known as Max), is motivated by his passion for technology and his desire to provide the best possible service to customers. He enjoys working with people and solving problems and is always striving to deliver effective solutions to any technical issue that arises.
Max is committed to going above and beyond to ensure that customers have a positive experience when working with our company, and he is always willing to take the time to explain complex technical issues in a way that is easy for non-technical users to understand. His expertise and exceptional customer service skills make him another valuable member of our team.
Max has a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Waikato and has worked in client and infrastructure roles for over 15 years. He has experience in supporting Macintosh, Linux and Windows Operating systems.
Out of work, Max enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family and pursuing a range of hobbies that fuel his passions. He is an avid gardener and has a keen eye for capturing life’s moments through photography.
He is also fascinated by astronomy and loves gazing at the stars. In his downtime, Sopheak likes to strum his guitar to unwind and enjoys working on his beloved car, as he is a passionate Honda enthusiast.
Joe Singh

Joe moved to New Zealand in 2016 to pursue his studies in software development at Toi Ohomai.
Since then he has gained IT experience through roles providing Service Desk Support at Rotorua Lakes Council and as an IS Service Desk Analyst at Lakes District Health Board.
Joe and his wife have recently made Hamilton their new home. Out of work Joe has a passion for video games, managing his home lab, and enjoying quality time with his family.
